5 magical reasons to cycle in Piedmont!

The beautiful village of La Morra and its vineyards in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy.

Savor all the beauty and pleasures of Piedmont, considered Italy’s greatest single wine region, on this unforgettable eight-day bicycle tour. We have been perfecting our Land of Barolo and Truffles Piedmont bicycle tour for over 30 years! Our zig-zagging route traverses the world’s most important and distinct vineyard regions of Gavi, Acqui Terme, Alba, and lower Monferrato. We stay in luxury estates and enjoy gourmet meals nightly. For wine lovers and gourmands, this is pure cycling nirvana!  We’ll be fortified on our journey by sumptuous meals pairing great wines with delightfully complementary Piemontese cuisine, a blend of northern Italian and French influences, with truffles and mushrooms as seasonal key players.

Here are five magical reasons to bicycle with us in Piedmont!

1. Sip on World-famous Local Wines

Our cycling routes will take us from vineyard to vineyard through one of the world’s greatest wine regions! Indulge in daily wine tastings of Barolo, Barbaresco & Barbera.  We’ll visit historic enotecas, explore ancient wine caves, and meet with winemakers who take us behind the scenes of their craft.

2. Cycle Picture Perfect Landscapes

Day after day we take you on quiet, tiny roads that zig zag gently along ridges of green offering stunning views of vineyards, hazelnut orchards, and the mountains of the Alps and the Apennines. You’ll feel as if you are painting with your pedals as you dive into Renaissance landscapes of subtle hues and magical light, and let your senses soar and your soul sing with delight.

3. Visit Cycling Museum of Champions

A visit to the Museo Dei Campionisimi, the Cycling Museum of Champions dedicated to the history of cycling is an experience you’ll never forget. Our local tour leaders, who are passionate of the “heroic era” of cycling will be perfect guides for our unforgettable visit to historic heart of international cycling.

4. Surrender to Truffle Fever

Each year foodies from all over the world descend upon Piedmont in search of delicacies made with truffles. Prepare to feast on scrumptious meals flavored with shaves of white truffles. Enjoy abundant local truffle delicacies daily. The highlight of our tour will be meeting with a local truffle hunter and his dog.

5. Tempt your Sweet Tooth

A few centuries back, Piedmontese Signor Ferrero came up with the brilliant idea to combine the plentiful local hazelnuts with cocoa.  Our tour would not be complete without a stop to Cortemilia, famous for its hazelnuts and yes, Nutella!
