Bressanone/Brixen

On day 1 you’ll meet your guides at your hotel in Bressanone/Brixen at 12:45 pm; After a quick lunch, we will have introductions, a bike fitting, review safety instructions and introduction to the tour. In the early afternoon you’ll take off for the first ride, on the lovely bike paths around the city, surrounded by the vineyards of the Abbey of Novacella. Bressanone is a very important town with ancient origins and great richness due to its historic role as trading post and bishopry along the route that linked Germany with Italy. Nowadays you can enjoy a lively life, great shopping, and picturesque corners of alpine beauty.

Hiking in the Plose Mountains

Above Brunico, the Plose mountain range dominates the western edge of the Dolomites. Our hike to Mount Gabler offers a great first approach to this paradise where the majestic Sas de Putia and the Odle group feel almost within reach. We begin the circuit hike on the Pfannspitz cable car, which lifts us up the mountain. The walk is at high quote and traverses high alpine pasture, stone pine and larch forests. Experienced hikers have the option to extend the route with a climb to the summit of Mt. Gabler, adding about an hour on steep terrain for rewarding panoramic views. Later, we enjoy a guided walking tour of Bressanone, with it cobbled streets and colorful arcades—a charming contrast to the day’s alpine adventure.

Brunico

Today your ride will head North, and from the Isarco river, you’ll join the Pustertal, the valley of river Rienza, the only water of Italy that won’t end in the Mediterranean but in the Black Sea. The ride, mostly on bike paths, will include some climbs, here and there, on the small hills around the river; to your left the many peaks that mark the border between Italy and Austria might still have some patches of snow. The ride ends in Brunico, another lovely ancient town, named after the founder, the prince bishop Bruno Von Kirchberg in 1256. The center is rich with small boutiques, lovely houses with windows decorated with geraniums. Not far from your hotel, the Messner Mountain Museum should not be missed for its collection of memorabilia of the history of mountaineering and the futuristic architecture of the buildings that host it.

Hike to Kronplatz

The hike starts at the top of Kronplatz (2275 m). From here we’ll start a panoramic circular walk all around the peak. The 360° view is unforgettable. The path is smooth and with just some elevation, as usual there are more options for those seeking challenges. After lunch we have scheduled a visit to the Messner Mountain Museum: starting with the building which is considered a masterpiece of modern architecture, to the display of 250 years of history of mountaineering, the visit will remain in your memory as a highlight of the trip!

Cortina

Today we’ll ride to Cortina, the Olympic city, also known as the Queen of the Dolomites. The ride unfolds at first along the river valley, then heads south following the ancient railway bike path that, in 10 miles of gentle climbing, ends at the Pass Cime Banche, from here a fun descent brings us to Cortina. The whole ride is full of points of interest: here was the front for many WWI battles and several war cemeteries dot the route; above we can admire the most impressive peaks of this part of the Alps, spires of limestone that grow high up in a rock labyrinth.

"Cinque Torri" Hike

Today’s hike begins at Passo Falzarego and follows the length of the open-air World War I museum, featuring reconstructed trenches, tunnels, and shelters used during the war. Along the way, the dramatic peaks of Tofane, Lagazuoi, and Croda da Lago dominate the skyline. The route concludes at Cinque Torri, where iconic limestone towers rise strikingly from the plateau. The nearby Rifugio Scoiattoli is the perfect place to pause for a snack, take photos, rest, or watch climbers on the surrounding rock faces.
