Day1
Warm up ride to Chia
We’ll organize a shuttle at 11:30am at Cagliari airport and meet at the first hotel at 1 pm for an introductory light lunch. In the afternoon, after a bike fitting, we will cycle eastward along the coast, where we will begin to immerse ourselves in the magical colors of the Sardinian Sea and the Mediterranean's countless shades of green. Before heading back, we'll enjoy a coffee on the perfectly moon-shaped Su Portu Beach, surrounded by the white gleam of quartz and granite sand, and observed from above by the Chia Tower. Perched on highland, it is one of the many coastal watchtowers built over a thousand years, from the early Middle Ages until the 1800s, to defend Sardinia from the devastating attacks of pirates coming from North Africa.

Day2
Ride to Domus de Maria - Teulada & back to Chia.
Today we'll cycle towards the inland of the historical region of Sulcis, along roads completely immersed in a dense thicket of wonderfully fragrant Mediterranean plants. It is mainly the holm oaks, the tallest and longest-living trees here, that give character to these granite hills. The Is Cannoneris Forest, one of the largest in Europe, comes close to the hairpin turns we will be cycling through. Along a marvelous winding road with climbs and descents, we'll reach Teulada, a small village further inland that has been abandoned and rebuilt several times over the centuries, to escape the raids of pirates, a true nightmare for the people of Sardinia, southern Italy, and Spain. After lunch and a cooking class at the lovely typical restaurant Da Stefano, where we'll learn to make some traditional pasta types from this area of Sardinia with our own hands, we'll descend towards the coast along a beautiful road that runs alongside small family vineyards and olive groves.

Day3
Chia to Porto Pino
An epic cycling ride awaits us today along one of the most magnificent roads on the entire island, passing through Chia, Cape Malfatano, and Porto Budello. We will never lose sight of the sea, surrounded by the most diverse and extraordinary colors you can imagine: cobalt blue, sky blue, azure, emerald green, turquoise... an unparalleled palette of shades! The rocky cliffs reflect the sunlight with their silvery surface. The white beaches, resembling snow, outline the coastline and reveal the patterns of the ocean currents. The Mediterranean scrub here is infused with the scent of the sea breeze, intermingling with that of the seagrass brought by the waves. It's a unique environment that will leave you speechless! For a well-deserved lunch, we will be welcomed at the seafood restaurant Sabor 'e Mari, which translates to taste of the sea in the local language. And all the colors and aromas of the day will magically transform into flavors: the fresh fish caught daily by the small fishing boats of Porto Budello is expertly prepared by the chefs at Sabor 'e Mari, and you'll find it on your plate along with all the typical Mediterranean essences. In the afternoon, we'll reach our destination of the day, Porto Pino. The road runs along a narrow strip of land, crossing the coastal lagoons of Is Brebeis and Maestrale, brackish wetlands of great natural interest due to the presence of many bird species, including the beautiful pink flamingos. From this moment on, it's all about pleasant relaxation at our beachfront hotel and in the charming village of Porto Pino.

Day4
Sant’ Antioco loop ride
No hills to climb today. Instead, our gaze can wander over the inland waters and lagoons of the Gulf of Palmas, where the sky seems to blend with the sea and the brackish waters teem with life. A bridge connects the mainland to the island of Sant'Antioco and its town. The people of ancient Sardinia have inhabited this area since the 3rd millennium BC, but it was with the arrival of the Phoenicians - the seafaring and trading people of the eastern Mediterranean - when the island's first true city, Sulki, was established in the 9th century BC. From this fascinating history that spans millennia, we'll visit the small yet meticulously curated museum that recounts the encounter between the Sardinians and the Phoenicians, and the unique civilization that emerged from their mingling. Some areas of the city still bear evident traces of its multifaceted past, and we will explore them with professional guides before returning to Porto Pino, passing through the marvelous road that leads to the still active and productive salt flats of Sant' Antioco. It is an unpaved road, but in excellent condition and suitable for cycling. It winds through the large evaporation basins of seawater, creating a precious environment frequented by numerous bird species. In the late afternoon, a unique experience awaits us: a tour among the impressive dunes of Porto Pino. Resulting from the millennial action of the Mistral wind and the particular geological characteristics, these dunes tower over the beach at heights typically associated with African deserts. The tallest ones reach thirty meters, composed of fine, dazzling white sand, and they harbor even millennia-old juniper trees. It is a Mediterranean paradise considered among the most beautiful beaches in the world!

Day5
Porto Pino to Portoscuso
Today we will cycle through flat lands scorched by the sun, surrounded by yellow and earthy colors. Once a seabed, this area has transformed into an alluvial plain cultivated with wheat and grains. The Mediterranean scrub is the only source of intense green in this landscape, which is once again different from the previous days. We will reach the rugged and beautiful west coast of Iglesiente, whipped by the Mistral wind and powerful waves. Waiting for us at the end of the day is the village of Portoscuso, meaning hidden port, born from the mingling of fishermen and miners from various origins: Sardinians, Sicilians, Ligurians, Spaniards... a typical Mediterranean melting pot that gives this area a unique atmosphere.

Day6
Loop of San Pietro Island
Today is dedicated entirely to the small island of San Pietro. We'll reach it by ferry from Porto Vesme, and after a short crossing of about an hour, we'll be ready to cycle along the roads of this island of fascinating history. Colonized in 1738 by Ligurian families from Tabarka, Tunisia, San Pietro truly represents the unique melting pot of the Mediterranean Sea: a small ocean that connects different peoples, traditions, languages, and religions. At times in conflict, but united by the same sea and often by similar destinies. Even today, the residents of Carloforte are the descendants of that Tabarkine community, sharing the language, trades, and material traditions of that ancient community. After visiting the spectacular rock columns suspended between the sea and the sky - one of the most important natural monuments in Sardinia - we will continue cycling towards the rugged and steep cliffs of Cape Sandalo. In Carloforte, we'll immerse ourselves in the daily culture and gastronomy that animates these places: tuna fishing. The tradition of tonnara - traditional tuna-fishing nets - is ancient and has kept the community together, still animating and supporting it today. We'll visit the Tonnara Museum and taste the tuna caught by small fishermen and producers. We will learn about the different cuts and parts of this fish, which is fundamental to the economy of many seafaring peoples. After returning by ferry to Portoscuso, we will celebrate these fantastic days in Sardinia with a farewell dinner that will make the experiences we shared together unforgettable!
