Bienvenue! Welcome to Corsica! We offer a group shuttle from Calvi Airport (CLY) at 12:30 pm to our first hotel. We meet at the hotel at 1 pm for a light lunch and introduction, followed by a warm-up ride. Our journey starts in the picturesque coastal town of Calvi. You can warm up your muscles with a brief ride in Balagna, the region of Northern Corsica renowned for its pink granite landscapes and delicious local wine.

Our tour starts off with an amazing view today, as we embark on one of the most scenic rides of the itinerary. Although the first few miles out of Calvi might be a bit challenging, the view makes it totally worth it. Once we get past mile 17, we have a smooth ride along an incredible road that weaves in and out of the trees. You see mountains covered in lush eucalyptus trees, grazing cows and goats, and the coral-colored sea. At the top of each climb, you are rewarded with a different angle of the stunning red granite coast.

Today’s ride takes us through a stunning array of landscapes. As we begin our journey, get your camera ready for the next ten miles as we pass through the breathtaking coastal area of Les Calanques, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you see red and pink granite spires that soar above the sea. For the next few miles, we ride along a beautiful coastal road that boasts white sandy beaches. The last climb to Col de San Bastianu is the most challenging part of the tour, but the view from the top is well worth it. Afterward, we enjoy a well-deserved descent into Ajaccio, Corsica’s capital.

In the morning, we ride up the Coti Chiavari hill on a serene road that weaved through fragrant bushes. It is a true representation of the Mediterranean. We also have the opportunity to explore the prehistoric Filitosa site.

Today’s route is a wide and hilly one, offering views of the rugged coastline and the sea. After setting off, we soon reach Sartene, the ancient capital of Corsica, which sits atop a hill. The austere ambiance and old dark granite buildings of the town are sure to spark your imagination. The road then continues along the coast until we finally reach Bonifacio, our destination for the day. There, a local guide will take us on a tour of the city, which also happens to be his hometown.

Palau, Sardinia

We leave the beautiful island of Corsica for Sardinia, another gem in the Mediterranean. We take the ferry to Santa Teresa di Gallura in Sardinia and start our journey towards the region known as Gallura. The scenery changes from limestone in Bonifacio to granite rocks in Sardinia. On the way, a few kilometers before our final destination, we stop for lunch and wine tasting in a small local winery. Back on the bikes, as we reach the last short climb, the view opens up on the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park.

La Maddalena & Boat excursion

Today, we explore La Maddalena island. We take a 15-minute ferry from our hotel and start to ride counterclockwise around the island from the landing harbor. After a short climb, we enjoy a stunning view of La Maddalena and the other islands in the archipelago. As we ride back to the town to take the ferry back to Palau, we pass through a succession of little bays and inlets, surrounded by the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. In the afternoon, we embark on a private yacht and take an excursion around the islands of the archipelago.

We cycle through the interior of Gallura. We leave the coastline and make our way along quiet secondary roads in the countryside. During our journey, we stop at Carlo’s garden, where we can taste fresh, seasonal fruit picked straight from his fruit trees. We then head towards Sant’Antonio di Gallura for lunch. In the afternoon, we ride through cork oak forests and pastures, where you can see cows, goats, and sheep, providing evidence of the region’s leading economy. Towards the end of our ride, we pass by the Vermentino and Cannonau vineyards. To cover the last few miles to our hotel, we take a 30-minute shuttle.

We begin our day with a 30-minute transfer to avoid busy areas. Leaving the granite rocks of Gallura, we enter the Baronie and Ogliastra regions, where the limestone was raised from the sea 150 million years ago. Sardinia is one of the oldest lands in Europe. Over thousands of years, the water has created deep erosions and karst phenomena, forming high rock walls, deep gorges and an intricate network of caves. These caves are rounded and separated by lush valleys.

What an amazing day full of unforgettable experiences! We embark on a journey to explore the undiscovered and authentic Sardinia of times past. Starting from the hotel, we ride towards Oliena and continue on a loop ride to discover the villages of Orgosolo. During our journey, we stop for a guided walk to marvel at and learn the stories behind the numerous Murals. Afterward, we get back on the bikes and ride to Mamoiada to enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, before returning to our beautiful hotel, we visit the Museum of the famous wooden masks, which are part of a millennial tradition, and have an exciting guided tour.

Our final journey takes us along one of the most breathtaking roads in Sardinia. We start from the hotel and make a long but easy ascent towards Genna Silana, while enjoying a stunning view of the Flumineddu Valley that originates from the Gorroppu Canyon, the highest canyon in Europe with cliffs towering over 1315 ft. As we approach the town of Baunei, we ride along a fun and rolling road in a pristine environment, which is home to rich wildlife and dramatic sceneries. We then descend down a thrilling slope towards the sea and celebrate the end of our unforgettable Mediterranean island adventure.
