Packing the Essentials
These items are suggested to make your ride as safe, comfortable and fun as possible. We’ve listed the essentials, but you might have your own additions. Reference your itinerary for the number of days and type of tour you are taking. Then, choose the packing list that best fits your tour, below:
6-8 Day Bike Tours
On the Bike:
- 2-3 pairs of cycling shorts with chamois lining
- Chamois cream
- 2-3 brightly colored bicycle jerseys (one will be provided by us)
- Cycling gloves
- Cycling shoes and pedals (if you use them)
- Sunglasses
- Waterproof wind breaker or rain jacket
- Light weight jacket or vest
- Bicycle helmet
- Day pack/hip pack
- Arm and leg warmers
- Saddle (optional)
Off the Bike:
- 2-3 interchangeable evening outfits – our style is very casual and comfortable; jacket and tie not necessary
- We occasionally have a more formal evening, feel free to bring something for that occasion
- 1-2 lightweight sweaters
- 1-2 pairs of shorts or slacks
- Intimate clothing/sleepwear
- Comfortable walking shoes for evenings in town
For Alpine Tours:
Pack warmer clothing (layers), waterproof gear, warm gloves and hat
Personal Supplies:
- Passport and photocopies of your passport
- Wallet
- Airline ticket/e-ticket information
- Camera and camera charger
- Cell phone
- Electrical adapter and adapter plug
- Toiletries

Combo Hike and Bike Tours

- Waterproof or water resistant hiking boots and hiking socks (gore-tex not necessary)
- 1 pair of light weight pants, the best are ones you can unzip at the knee
- 2-3 pair of walking/hiking shorts
- Walking sticks (we will provide one)
- 2-4 breathable shirts (quick-dry, cotton not recommended)

Photography Tours
For Hikes/Walks:
- Sunglasses
- Waterproof wind breaker or rain jacket

- Waterproof or water resistant hiking boots and hiking socks
(gore-tex not necessary) - 1-2 pairs of light weight pants, the best are ones you can unzip
at the knee - 2-3 pair of walking/hiking shorts
- Walking sticks (optional)
- 3-4 breathable shirts (quick-dry, cotton not recommended)
- For high altitude hikes and chilly evenings, bring 1-2 sets of
warmer clothing (sweater and long pants)
Suggested Camera Equipment:
- Camera bag, such as the Think Tank Photo Airport Essentials
- Backpack or Lowepro Sling Shot, is recommended
- 1-2 camera bodies
- Lenses: 35-70mm, 80-200mm
- Polarizing filter for each lens
- Inside pockets: (2) 16GB memory cards, lens brush, cleaning cloth, camera manual, sharpie marker, leatherman tool (place it in your checked bag), extra camera battery, charger, flashlight, water bottle, zip lock bags, extra luggage tax
- External hard drive
- Computer and charger
- Travel tripod (optional)
