Fabulous Boat Rides on Ciclismo Classico Tours

group on boat in amalfi coast

Our water-loving guests always adore a nice boat ride. Anything from small fishing boats, to yachts, to speedy ferries and inter-island tug boats–we do it all! There is nothing like being out on the water and taking in reverse views of the Islands, gorgeous coastlines and tiny, bustling harbors. Some of the best discoveries–and impressions of place–are caught while on the boat. Here is a sampling of some of our favorite boating moments.

Southern Amalfi

On Day 5 of our fabulous tour on the Cilento Coast, traveling from Camerota to Scario, we grab a local boat to explore the stretch of coast that has no road and features natural beauties, like Infreschi Bay. Who could pass up awe-inspiring views over the Tyrrhenian Sea?

Mediterranean Islands

On Day 6 of this colorful tour, we ride a glorious and comfortable ferry to Santa Teresa di Gallura, in Sardinia, and from the harbor we will start our ride towards the region called Gallura.  The scenery will changes rapidly, from the limestone of Bonifacio to the rounded granite rocks of Sardinia!

Ireland’s Dramatic West Coast

On Day 3 of our Ireland bike tour we take a lovely ferry from a tiny, quaint fishing village in Connemara to Inis Mor, one of the unique Aran Islands. This ferry ride literally transports us through time as we explore the beauty of the islands, its archaeological sites, beaches, and local crafts. Catch a glimpse into a way of life that has long since disappeared from most of the county. The Islands’ raw beauty and charm will leave you longing to return again and again!

La Bella Sicilia

On Day 7 of our Sicilian adventure, we take a speedy ferry over to the stunning Aeolian island of Lipari–rugged with deep caverns, steep cliffs, and splendid views. The following day, we take a private boat to Salina. Interspersed with a stop to take a dip or two, we have a relaxing boat ride with our native seamen through calm, turquoise-blue Mediterranean waters.

Amalfi Stroll

On Day 3 of our striking walking tour along the famous Amalfi Coast, we take an early morning ferry (1 hr) to Capri. From Capri’s port, we walk on pedestrian lanes up to Villa Jovis, the site of our relaxing lunchtime picnic. After we tour the Roman ruins, we wander Capri’s elegant lanes or continue on a panoramic walk to see the famous “Faraglioni.” In the late afternoon, we return by ferry to swanky Positano! A boat lover’s dream!
