This unique Camino del Nord offers a one-of-a-kind approach to the famously touted pilgrimage route: Camino de Santiago.
Although the entire Camino route is 900 km, we will cover a 500km section that offers new perspectives; graciously mixing coastal and rolling country landscapes. All along the way, we get to observe and visit monuments built over an extensive period, culminating with in-depth guided visits once we reach the town of Santiago.
Imagine an atmosphere of conviviality, rich in spirituality, history and culture. We cover a section of the Northern Route––running along the Atlantic coast and then heading further south to reach our final desired destination: Santiago de Compostela. The ride immerses us in the two distinctly different areas: Asturias and Galicia. These are the focal regions of this glorious ride.
During the first part of the trip, while gliding along the Atlantic Ocean, we’ll pass through a number of spectacular tiny fishing villages; spinning our way along a craggy coastline and stopping to take an occasional, refreshing plunge into the inviting deep blue waters of the Atlantic. Upon arriving in Galicia––the landscape begins to transform from rugged coastlines to farmland, pastures and wooded forests leading us to our “golden ticket” landing spot in lively Santiago and “Land’s End” – Finisterre.
Tour Essence
- Enjoy riding along the famous route followed by pilgrims since the pre-Christian era
- In Santiago we stay in the oldest hotel in the world dating back to 1499!
- Foodie hotspots like Galicia and Asturias: wonderful seafood, cheese and meat, especially in the Asturias, we’ll sample a special cider that is being made since the Roman period.
- A concert of Galician music played with the Gaita–a typical bagpipe from this region.
- Visit Santiago de Compostela, the iconic end of the famous Camino
- Reach Finisterre, the “End of the World” at the time of the Roman Empire
