We meet at our hotel in Córdoba at 1:00 p.m. for introductions and a light lunch, followed by a short warm-up ride through this remarkable city—our starting point for the journey ahead! Córdoba owes its fame to the brilliance of Roman, Moorish, Jewish, and Christian civilizations, each leaving a lasting mark on its rich and diverse history. Once the capital of Spain from the 8th to the 11th century, the city is filled with charm—from its ancient cobbled streets to the hidden garden patios tucked away in the old town, just waiting to be explored.

Soar across a flat, fertile valley—a landscape typical of the foothills of the Sierra Morena. Our route winds through gently rolling hills, offering scenic views of Córdoba in the distance. Along the way, we pass farms, old mills, and olive oil presses, all adding to the tranquil beauty of the Andalusian countryside! We return to town for lunch on your own, followed by free time to explore Córdoba at your leisure or simply relax at the hotel. In the evening, we regroup for a traditional tapas dinner, followed by an unforgettable night of Flamenco—a passionate, rhythmic celebration of Andalusian culture.

Cordoba to Priego

Today’s ride leads us southeast through the fertile valley of the Guadalquivir, gradually giving way to rolling hills and olive groves that stretch as far as the eye can see. We pass through quiet whitewashed villages, rural farmland, and some of the world’s most renowned olive oil-producing landscapes. We stop in Castro del Río for lunch. From there, the ride becomes more scenic and gently challenging as you enter the Subbética Natural Park, a region of dramatic limestone hills, almond trees, and timeless Andalusian charm. Small hilltop towns dot the route, offering a glimpse into rural life in southern Spain. Our final stretch brings us to the outskirts of Priego de Córdoba, a town known for its Baroque architecture and breathtaking views over the surrounding sierras.

Priego to Archidona

We begin the day by passing through Priego de Córdoba, a town renowned for its stunning Baroque architecture, before cycling through a vast landscape of olive groves. Along the way, we may spot farm animals that reflect the region’s rich agricultural heritage, with the Sierra Nevada mountains providing a beautiful backdrop in the distance. The route then leads us through peaceful Andalusian countryside to Riofrío, a small village of just 300 residents. Fed by a nearby river, Riofrío is well known among both fishing enthusiasts and lovers of fresh fish cuisine. Our day ends with a special treat—a hands-on paella cooking class, where we learn to prepare this iconic Spanish dish.

Archidona Loop

We start by riding southeast along quiet country roads lined with olive groves and rolling farmland. Your first stop is the charming village of Cuevas de San Marcos, known for its rugged limestone landscape and proximity to the Cueva de Belda, a prehistoric cave system. This stretch includes some gentle climbs and open views of the countryside. From there, the route turns south toward the whitewashed hilltop town of Iznájar, dramatically perched above the shores of the Embalse de Iznájar, one of the largest reservoirs in Andalusia. The climb into town is steady but rewarding, with sweeping views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Iznájar’s cobbled streets, quiet plazas, and castle ruins make it a great place for a scenic break. The return to Archidona follows a different route through winding rural roads, passing fields, olive trees, and small cortijos (farmhouses), offering a peaceful ride back.

Archidona to Antequera

We roll southwest through open farmland, olive groves, and gentle countryside. The route features gradual climbs and smooth descents, offering wide views of Andalucía’s fertile interior. As you approach Antequera, the dramatic La Peña de los Enamorados rises in the distance, (“The Lovers’ Leap”), an 880-meter limestone crag named after a legend of forbidden love between a Christian youth from Antequera and a Moorish girl from Archidona. Before dinner on your own, we enjoy a guided walk through town, followed by a local olive oil and wine tasting. Antequera’s history spans nearly 5,000 years, with Bronze Age dolmens, Roman baths, a Moorish castle, and a mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque landmarks.

Antequera to Ronda

Today’s ride is one of the most scenic of the trip. We cross the dramatic Sierra de Málaga, tackling three distinct climbs before reaching the highest point of the tour: the Puerto del Viento. From there, we enjoy a thrilling descent into the historic town of Ronda. Although it’s one of Andalucía’s fastest-growing towns, Ronda has preserved its timeless charm. It’s world-renowned for its breathtaking cliffs, panoramic views, and the dramatic El Tajo gorge, carved by the Río Guadalevín. The iconic Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), an 18th-century marvel that spans the gorge, offers unforgettable views of the Serranía de Ronda mountains. Ronda is also considered the birthplace of modern bullfighting, still honored each year during the colorful Feria Goyesca. You can visit the elegant Plaza de Toros, one of Spain’s oldest bullrings, and its museum—home to historic photos, including images of Ernest Hemingway with legendary bullfighters.

Ronda Loop

We begin the day by spinning along a rocky limestone ridge toward Grazalema, a charming white village nestled in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. This karst landscape is known for its dramatic limestone formations and a remarkable network of caverns. The park is also a haven for birdlife, including large colonies of vultures and even a few rare Egyptian vultures, a critically threatened species. Due to its ecological significance, the area has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. In the afternoon, we return to Ronda for a leisurely stroll through town, followed by our final celebration dinner.

After breakfast, at 9:00 a.m., we provide one group shuttle to the bus or train station in Ronda. You may choose to return to Seville, or venture on to Granada to explore the city’s winding streets and visit the magnificent Alhambra Palace—a must-see cultural treasure. Due to its popularity, we highly recommend booking tickets in advance to avoid long lines or sold-out time slots.
