What is it about Bianchi?

We are approaching yet another year of collaboration with Bianchi for our 2015 bike tour season and we are proud to present our bike of choice: the Carbon Intenso, the so called Coast to Coast (C2C) series! Our color of choice was, of course, Celeste and we’ve added gearing to better suit our bike tours on European roads. This beauty is sure to turn heads, so watch this video to find out more about our fabulous Bianchi Intenso!
Why Bianchi?
The first Bianchi shop opened in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi, then 21 years old, on via Nirone (sound familiar?) in Milan, Italy. To this day it is one of the oldest bicycle manufacturing companies stil around. Fast forward 130 years and you can find yourself in a Bianchi Café in one of the main strips of Milan, Tokyo, Oslo, and New York (coming soon).
Nowadays, Bianchi is about technology and “Italian-ism”. When our General Manager, Beppe, visited the factory in Treviglio near Milan he met with the Marketing Director, Signor Masnata, who spoke about Bianchi’s new course; they do not want to get trapped in the allure of tradition, but rather keep up with technology to bring you the best ride possible.
Visitng their R&D department you sense that Fausto Coppi is a distant icon. And what about the Cafe? While there are many bike-themed cafes out there, Bianchi is going really big: best locations, best food and chefs, maniacally designed interns, bikes displayed like jewels, and Passione Celeste in every corner.
The gruppo is a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed and the wheel set is Fulcrum (a Campagnolo wheel brand).
Overall, we are filled with pride to partner with them, and in many ways it’s an intangible advantage with so many great bike companies around.
