20 Fantastic Photos to Inspire You to Go to Northwest, Argentina!

A cyclist in a green and black jersey sits on a wooden fence, gazing at a scenic mountain landscape—perfect inspiration for anyone dreaming of scenic bike tours, with a bicycle resting nearby.

Most of my journeys begin with a photograph. I see a place in a magazine or on the web, it touches a cord and suddenly a litte voice says, “”Wow, I gotta go there!”” That is how my love affair with Northwest Argentina began.

It all started with a photograph of a spectacular multi-colored mountain range in Northwest Argentina called Serranía de Hornocal. As a lover of places, I just had to find out more, go there and meet Ossian Lindholm, the visionary photographer who had taken this stunning shot. I started learning more about Northwest, Argentina and experience the variety of amazing scenery as captured by Ossian’s expert and passionate eye. I spent two weeks in this photographer’s paradise and captured hundreds of stunning images myself. Over many bottles of Torrontes wine and savory empanada, we created the world’s first photography and fine wine tour that takes place in the heart of the Andes mountains called, Andean Vision & Vine that was the winner of National Geographic’s 2014 Trip of the Year.

Relatively undiscovered, Northwest, Argentina is not (yet!) on the world’s most coveted photographic destinations but it’s just a matter of time before photo travelers, in search of perfect landscape photos, will discover this stunningly scenic, peaceful and photogenic epicenter of South America. With its high alititude vineyards, vast canyons and multiple mountain biospheres, Northwest Argentina is a scenic blend of Tuscany, the American Southwest and the lush forests of Vermont.  I’ll let the following 20 photos show you why Northwest, Argentina belongs at the top of your Photo Destination Bucket List. I hope you will join us on this exclusive Andean experience. With Ossian as your expert guide and teacher he will ensure that you are in the right place at the right time to capture shots like these and many more—all while lingering and learning about one of the most delightfully photogenic places on earth. Get there before everyone else does!
