Beyond the known routes lies a different Italy. Ride it from Rome to the sea—through raw landscapes, authentic culture, and unforgettable terrain. This is terrain and territory that very few truly know how to ride well. This is where Ciclismo Classico goes.Starting in the Castelli Romani, the route quickly leaves behind the familiar and commits to the mountains. Day after day, the riding delivers: long, steady climbs, high open plateaus, and descents that draw you deeper into the Apennines. The quality of cycling is constant and remarkable, all the way to the final kilometers, when the road releases you toward the Adriatic and your arrival in Termoli. Along the way, the journey gains depth. In L’Aquila—a city brought back to life after a devastating earthquake—there is a tangible sense of resilience and renewal. Nearby, Santo Stefano di Sessanio offers a different perspective, its albergo diffuso quietly preserving a medieval village without altering its soul. The route crosses some of Italy’s most protected landscapes, including the Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise and the Parco Nazionale della Majella, before entering Molise—perhaps Italy’s least known region, where highlands stretch wide, villages remain untouched, and the pace of life feels entirely its own. The journey ends at the sea in Termoli, a working fishing town with deep medieval roots. It’s a simple, honest finish—boats in the harbor, salt in the air, and the quiet satisfaction of having crossed one of Italy’s most authentic and rewarding regions by bike.
