Riccardo Pizzorni

Ciclismo Guide Riccardo PizzorniRiccardo has been cycling since he was a “gagno” enjoying his wooden balance bike gifted by his parents up and down the streets of Acqui Terme which he proudly calls home. He grew up exploring the hills around Acqui and organizing little two-day trips with his friends in the nearby regions. Today, he takes part in cyclocross races and randonnée in different places around Italy and Europe. “I lived and I am living cycling in every possible way, from racing bikes and motorbikes to restoring abandoned bicycles. My bicycle is my transportation for school, my transportation to explore rivers and the woods where my passions take place. Fishing, skiing, and mushroom hunting fill my days”. Riccardo is also studying Physiotherapy in Pietra Ligure a little town near Genova where he can nurture his other big passion of mountain biking. He says his passions have become his job: “Being a Ciclismo Classico guide is not only about cycling but the opportunity of discovering and sharing the insight of a country.  The bicycle is the perfect transport to make it happen”. Riccardo is very passionate about exploring and in the past years he bikepacked several European regions. “Exploring new spots is my passion not only by bike but also by foot or boat, finding places that most of the people can’t reach is priceless”. Born in Acqui Terme, northwest of Piedmont, Riccardo traveled a lot with his family when we was a child.  His family took him everywhere during holidays but they always came back to the hometown where he currently lives. In his Own Words “I really love travel and discovering new places but I am really linked to Italy and my town, after a long trip I need to come back. Becoming a guide is a dream come true. As long I remember Ciclismo Classico is part of my life.  I remember that I played pretending to be a guide around my garden and now I am a real Ciclismo Classico guide, is there something better? Since I was a child my parents taught me the art of eating really well so my culinary culture is something that I really like to enjoy and improve every single day, Ciclismo Classico is the perfect opportunity to convey this passion to our guests”
