Nicolo Caprari

Born and raised in Reggio Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, Nicolò grew up surrounded by good food, small towns with strong local identities, quiet country roads, and landscapes that can change dramatically within just a few kilometers. He has been riding bikes since he was a kid, starting mainly on mountain bikes. Cycling quickly became his favorite way to explore, giving him the freedom to leave the main roads behind, follow a small road just to see where it leads, and discover places at his own pace. That curiosity has taken him far beyond Italy. Nicolo’ spent two years living in Australia and has traveled extensively through South America, North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe, reaching as far north as the North Cape. Living and traveling abroad taught him English and Spanish and gave him a broader perspective on his own country and its many different regions.

One of the things Nicolò enjoys most about Italy is how much can change from one region to the next—from the landscape and architecture to the food, dialects, and traditions. Emilia-Romagna remains home, but he loves exploring and sharing the distinctive character of places throughout Italy, from the Alps to Sicily. Outside of cycling, Nicolò’s biggest passion is surfing, which takes him around the world in search of new waves. He built his own van for traveling independently and also enjoys exploring remote places with his 4WD. As a Ciclismo Classico guide, Nicolò loves introducing guests to the places, traditions, and everyday life that make each region unique. For him, a bicycle is the perfect way to explore: slowly enough to notice the details, freely enough to take the unexpected turn, and close enough to the landscape to really experience it.
