Classic Florence Extension
We begin our Classic Florence extension with an orientation walk through the antique center of Florence, learning the history through art and architecture as you stroll through the little back streets, main piazzas and former noble palazzi, small museums, monuments, churches, courtyards, shops and cafes. We recommend you visit the Uffizzi Gallery or L’Accademia at your own leisure (we’re happy to help with pre-ordering of tickets to secure you a date/time for your visit). Additional small museum stops with our guide might include: a Renaissance fresco of the Last Supper that predates Leonardo’s, the Michelangelo designed Laurentian Library, the Medici’s first palazzo town house with remarkable frescoes and architecture, the frescoed monk’s cells at San Marco, or a miraculous Madonna painting and the gorgeous church that sprang around it. Of course, there’s an infinite array of Florentine treasures to discover!
