We are excited to have Matthew Donovan lead our One-Day Story Ride: Grand Tour of Boston.
An east coast native and bicycle enthusiast, Matt has been riding most of his life. Originally from Medford Massachusetts he fell in love with cycling whilst living in San Francisco California. His fondness for adventure and new experiences lead him to Europe where he spent 3 years backpacking anywhere and everywhere the trains would take him. Traveling far and wide he racked up a total of 21 countries visited, holding his experiences in northern Italy closest to his heart. Friends of Matt would eagerly tell you he has a wealth of knowledge and knows a little about everything, making him the perfect person to tour around Boston with you. Not to mention his killer award-winning mustache!
As a member of multiple cycling organizations such as the Boston Cyclist’s Union, Mass Bike, and the Maine Bike Coalition Matt’s love for cycling runs deep. Owning 7 in total, fondly naming his favorite bike ‘Bumblebee’, Matt’s travels don’t end with his backpacking. He has been a participant in the Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI), MS Cape Cod Get Away, FANY ride, Jingle Bell Ride & Santa Rampage. He has even followed along the Tour de France route on his dear Bumblebee. Matt derives great pleasure from his charity work within the bike community, raising money for Multiple Scleroses through the MS Cape Cod Getaway as well as the Best Buddies organization and helping out at local bike events. Aside from cycling Matt enjoys winter hiking and attending gigs at local venues and has an affection for history.
Nothing puts a smile on Matt’s face quite like a good bike ride so saddle up you’re in for a treat, roll on!
