Cycling has been a passion for Geof for half a century. His first 10 speed in 1972 is where the real freedom set in when he and two intrepid friends’ bike camped from Boston to Saco Maine to visit summer camp. Late 70’s and early 80’s saw him working as a wrench, and day ride guide for a Nantucket bike rental company. To this day, Geof keeps his hand in as a ride leader, cycling advocate and multi-day tour Director in the New England region. Combining his love for local history and local color, a passion for all things cycling, and a genuine desire to share the wonders of cycling with others has taken Geof to Canada, Italy and other locations throughout the US and around the globe.
Geof’s first ride on Martha’s Vineyard was sometime around 1970 during a family visit to Menemsha, as with every one of the innumerable trips back to the Island, Geof is looking forward to rediscovering old haunts and finding new things “off the beaten path.”
