The Next One Is Always the Best: Our Ciclismo Story

Our first Ciclismo trip was to Tuscany. I had been a runner for years and wanted to save my knees, so Mary Ann and I took up cycling. Like Cortez “burning his ships,” we immediately signed up for a cycling trip, and there has been no turning back.

The first trip was nothing short of magical. Our guide, Enrico, stated that when you ride, you become part of the landscape, and this could not be more true. Our trips have taken us all over Europe, immersing ourselves in their culture, witnessing extraordinary landscapes, enjoying fantastic meals, and meeting some amazing people.

To us, a cycling trip is like camp for “big kids”; we’ve made friendships for life, with not just the other participants, but also with the guides, and feel blessed to have our cycling family! Cycling has become our passion, and fourteen years later, we still look forward to the next venture. When asked by others what our best trip has been, we always respond, “The next one.”
