Ciclismo Classico was born on a bicycle in Italy in 1988. After graduating from Cornell, founder and CEO Lauren Hefferon was awarded a Rotary Scholarship to study fine arts in Florence, Italy. While living in Tuscany, she joined an Italian cycling club and explored as much of Italy by bicycle as possible. Lauren’s experiences and passion led her to create Ciclismo Classico, the first tour operator to specialize in Italy. One of the first tours we ran was Bike Across Italy, which became the catalyst for many other “Bike Across” cycling tours. Today, we offer Europe bike tours where you can bike across Italy, Southern Italy, Belgium, France, England, and Switzerland.
