Sardinia Multi-Sport Tour
Hiking and Biking and Everything In Between
West of Italy’s mainland lies Sardinia, Mediterranean’s second-largest island, with over 1,000 miles of pristine coastline. The variety of Sardinia’s rustic landscape and folk culture is a bit on the wild side—but that’s what makes it an exciting base for our new multi-activity adventure. The indigenous inhabitants have preserved their language, folklore and ethnicity, making modern Sardinia a living museum of rural Mediterranean life. Ancient poetry, music and dance are an important part of the island’s traditions. With our local and knowledgeable guides we have designed a tour that features the best of Sardegna including different multi-sport activities, from biking and hiking, to swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and wind surfing.
Based for three nights near the Costa Smeralda and three nights in the interior, we experience a true cultural immersion mixed with peaceful swimming in crystal-blue coves and cycling and hiking through striking landscapes, this island paradise tour calls out to you.

Day by Day
Cala di Lepre warm up ride
A 45-minute shuttle from Olbia airport takes us to the lovely four-star Hotel Cala di Lepre, a seaside resort situated near the Coasta Smeralda – one of the most gorgeous coastlines in Europe. We meet in the lobby at 1pm for a light lunch and an introduction to the tour. We will get fitted on our bikes and take a quick ride into Palau, one of the most recently developed ports on the island. From that vantage point, we can admire all the Archipelago of La Maddalena and enjoy the smell of the maquis, the typical native vegetation, which will delight us all along the tour. During this warm-up ride, we will enjoy our first gelato in Sardinia!
La Maddalena loop
Today we ride around one of the most beautiful islands of Sardinia. After a short ferry transfer, we arrive in the lively harbor of Maddalena. We take a beautiful ride in the small island of Caprera, famous for being owned by Garibaldi. We enjoy a refreshing ride along the coast, and then we loop around the island of La Maddalena, riding the same roads of Giro d’Italia 2007! Stop for lunch in a small cove, take your bathing suit, and enjoy!
Water Sports & Boat Ride
Today we take advantage of the beautiful ocean waters that surround us. We take a boat ride through the Archipelago of the Maddalena, spending our morning on the different secluded beaches of the small islands, swimming, and snorkeling. In the afternoon at the hotel, we can take part in the various sports available: swimming, canoeing, snorkeling, playing soccer, tennis, and even biking. Let your whims be indulged by the international atmosphere created by guests who come from all over the world.
Oliena Su Gologone and Orgosolo
After a van transfer, our ride winds from Mamoiada, famous for the Mediterranean masks, and around mountains down to Orgosolo, known as the village of murals. It is probably the most famous village in the Barbagia area, notorious for centuries as the center of Sardinian sheep rustlers. The town is covered by 150 murals, first painted in 1975. After Orgosolo, we head down to Hotel Su Gologone, located in the middle of a stupendous countryside, with enchanting views in every direction. This is truly an authentic gem!! Close by Oliena, our home for the next three nights is one of the most attractive villages in the province, splendidly set under the jagged ridge of the Supramonte Mountain range.
Mt. Corrasi Hike and picnic with Shepherds
Today we’re taking a day off the bike to hike and to explore the Supramonte mountain range. After our 1.5-hour hike (sneakers or hiking boots recommended), we’ll share a barbecue in the mountains with local shepherds. We’ll also have a chance to make cheese together with our friend Francesco. In the afternoon, visit the area, join the chef of the hotel restaurant for a cooking demonstration or simply relax by the pool as you wait for another amazing specialty dinner.
Loop to Galtelli
Today we reach the town of Galtelli, famous not only because it’s one of the most preserved towns in Sardinia, but also because the novel Canne al Vento, written by Grazia Deledda (Nobel Prize in 1926) took place in this small village. Here we meet our local friends and we visit local craftsmen who will explain the secret of making the “pane carasau,” a local baking specialty. Upon our return to the hotel, we will rest our tired legs in the pool and wait for our goodbye dinner.
After breakfast at 9 am, there will be one group shuttle to Olbia airport to make your connections. This shuttle takes about 2 hours, so please make your flight arrangements accordingly.
